Dublin-based Julianna Szabo’s paper creations are rich with playful details. In one animation, a snowy hillside appears, layer by layer, populating itself with trees, houses, and even a train rounding the bend. All materials and all forms—a waterfall, a dragon, a landscape replete with palm trees and even a ship crossing a choppy sea—are charmingly crafted in brightly colored paper, bringing a handmade aesthetic to her work’s digital presentation. The Gucci Ace is rendered in paper, its matte texture making the classic design of the shoe pop.
