Daito Manabe’s installations come to life in a special 360° video with a mix of writing, sound, light, animation and performances. The multi-media artist, who lives and works in Tokyo, unleashed his artistic tools in the Gucci Words Room for Gucci 4 Rooms, scrawling the bare space with signs, meanings and humor. Manabe's room crystallizes Alessandro Michele's women’s Fall Winter 2016 collection rhizome reference to create a very personal reconfiguration of Gucci's universe. He takes L'Aveugle Par Amour, the title of a French 18th century novel which features on many pieces in Gucci collections, and connects the novel's name to references from Japanese mythical literature on love: Tales of Okuninushi and The Legend of Yamata-no-Orochi, to create a rhizome of ideograms. In his room, emblems and symbols unpredictably turn in floating visual icons, like colorful and animated magic figures.
