“My work with cinema has always been about an insistence on celebrating the fringes, celebrating the peripheral, the marginal, and amplifying these voices,” says Dubai-based film curator Butheina Kazim.

The founder of Cinema Akil, the first arthouse cinema in her hometown of Dubai, Kazim delicately applies Gucci Bloom Intense, as she considers the magical capacity of film.
