Roboticist Tomotaka Takahashi, who has created numerous groundbreaking robots such as "Mr. Evolta," which runs on two AA batteries, goes to the Sano Shipyard in Tokyo, which has built Japanese-style boats since the Edo period. He knows cutting-edge technology, but what does he feel when he sees beautiful and elaborate teak, mahogany yachts, motorboats made by traditional techniques, and the site of Japanese shipbuilding?

Born in Kyoto in 1975. He founded "ROBO GARAGE" to research, plan, design, and manufacture robots. His representative works include "Mr. Evolta," which runs on two AA batteries, and "RoBoHoN," a communication robot with smartphone functions.
"HUMAN ODYSSEY" is a documentary film series in which creators who passionately pursue creation embark on a journey to discover craftsmanship. Calligrapher Daichiro Shinjo, architect Tsuyoshi Tane, roboticist Tomotaka Takahashi, photographer Kazuhei Kimura, chef Kotaro Meguro, and ceramic artist Raku Kichizaemon XVI. The six travel to different parts of Japan and France, and their new encounters lead to the creation of the next generation.
