Norway-based videographer Geeoh Snap has cultivated a devoted Snapchat following by blending street photography with humorous sketches that reframe figures into fantastical interactions. An unsuspecting cyclist is flanked by two bears balancing on her bike. A giraffe desperately attempts to blend in by hiding inside a bowl of soup. Subtle commentary about our public life emerges through repeated observations of the individual gazing down at her mobile phone. In this ongoing series, the artist replaces the phone with a towering and rapidly melting ice cream cone or a genie lamp or fastens an Ace style rocket to the unwitting texter. It’s time to pay attention to the world around us! For #24HourAce, Geeoh Snap, who filmed the project himself, animates the forest, the sea, and the city with all creatures great and small anticipating the arrival of the sneaker.
