Her Story Talks Part 2 -- with Mari Malek and Diandra Forrest
Minika Ko and COPE NYC present KOllision: a collaborative fashion show that envisions the future of female power through fashion, technology, and art. In celebration of International Women's Day and Women's History Month, artists across all mediums will showcase their creations with Minika Ko’s #KOVASKY collection as a canvas. These wearable works of art will be shown on the runway and available for purchase in a charity auction.
KOllision was emceed by refugee turned supermodel, Mari Malek. The event’s fundraising goal is to support Malek's Stand for Education #nopadnoschool campaign. Malek hopes to supply 1000 girls in South Sudan with sustainable menstrual hygiene products. Funding will also go towards designing family rooms for Little Flower Children and Family Services of New York through COPE NYC.
The pre-show party kicked off at 4:30pm. The guests siped wine, mingled, and enjoyed live music. Met Mari Malek at HerStory talk and learned how she advocates for children in South Sudan. Guests were able to check out the pop-up shop for KOVASKY: the high performance fashion line for the power woman on the go. The runway show started at 6pm.
The #KOllision show is produced by Minika Ko and COPE NYC and supported by a female-led production team including LL Moves dance performance, MBD Beauty hair and makeup, Be Brilliant styling, Eco Fashion Expo operational team, and SUSTAIN Magazine media relations. Additional sponsors include Couture Modeling Agency and Bronx Brewery.
