In this 4th episode, embark on a journey through creativity with Kazuhei Kimura.
Kimura, a photographer who has been actively showing his work through photography books and solo exhibitions, visited OSADA WASHI Co. Ltd., a long-established Echizen washi company in Fukui Prefecture. In addition to the production of handmade washi, this factory has inherited the delicate decorative techniques of fusuma paper.The artisans' attitude of constantly challenging themselves while preserving the old with products that suit modern interiors and applications to art and fashion inspires him.

Born in Fukushima Prefecture in 1993, he began taking photographs in 2012 and won the "19th 1_WALL Photography Competition Judges’ Encouragement Prizes" in 2018 and the IMA next #06 Grand Prix in 2019. His photography books include Wing Curtain (2018), Lighthouse (2019), and The Other Side of the Window (2020). He continues to present his work energetically.
"HUMAN ODYSSEY" is a documentary film series in which creators who passionately pursue creation embark on a journey to discover craftsmanship. Calligrapher Daichiro Shinjo, architect Tsuyoshi Tane, roboticist Tomotaka Takahashi, photographer Kazuhei Kimura, chef Kotaro Meguro, and ceramic artist Raku Kichizaemon XVI. The six travel to different parts of Japan and France, and their new encounters lead to the creation of the next generation.
